Emporia, Kansas
Well, today I drove to Emporia, Kansas to start a Finance Conference. To say the least, it was an interesting trip.
It all started last night after I picked up my truck from the tire store. I needed to get two new tires. Actually I need four new tires but I needed to wait a month before getting the other two. As I was driving down the road I noticed that my truck was swaying in an unusual fashion. I intended to check on it but then forgot after I got home.
This morning began at about 5:00am, by 6:00am I was at the gas station filling up my truck for the 615 mile trip from Austin the Emporia. By the time I got to the interstate I remembered that I had not checked out the tires, so I decided to just adjust my driving until I could get to Emporia and check it out properly.
I was fighting the steering wheel all the way. When I would change lanes it was a fight just to keep the truck in the proper lane. By the time I got to Oklahoma City I knew that it couldn't wait until Emporia.
So when I stopped to get gas and a bite to eat I also checked the pressure in the tires. As it turned out, the back drivers side tire was way low on pressure. That was the reason for the swaying. This is something that should have been handled by the tire company.
Oh, I forgot, I nearly flipped driving on the freeway in Oklahoma City when a car decided to change lanes into the lane I was in. I had to swerve to avoid being hit. Being that the truck was already unstable, it was all I could do just to stay on the road and in the correct lane.
Well, after getting proper air in the tires the rest of the trip was uneventful. Now I am tired and ready for bed. We will have to see how the rest of this week goes.

What did your wife say when you told her, "Oh, by the way, I almost flipped the truck at highway speed!"??
Billy,
Are you crazy? ... I didn't tell her. I think there is a song that goes something like ... "Silence is golden..." :-)
J,
You know as well as I do that we BOTH would have waited until we HAD to stop (I will drive 500 miles, I will drive 500 miles, I will drive 500 miles.) Just ask Jess if I am not right.
However, I will try, for my grandbabies sake, to act in a more responsible and grown-up manner in the future. :-)
